Age Related Supports

Service options for individuals with autism spectrum disorder varies depending on the individual's age.  While private service providers serve individual's of all ages, publically funded programs serve individuals of specific ages.  For instance, families of infants and toddlers (birth to age 3) may access services from the state's early intervention program SoonerStart, children and students ages 3 through 21 may access special education and related services from the local school district, and individuals age 3 through adulthood may access services and supports from the Department of the Human Services - Developmental Disabilities Services Division.  Service personnel within each of these programs collaborate across programs to assist in seamless transitions from one program to another.  Each of the programs also have eligibility requirements as well as paperwork to document the services to be provided.  Each of the age related supports pages describes these programs in greater detail and provides useful links.
