Projects

Some of the programs and work groups to impact our community.These include:

Edmond School Task Force - a parent and school task force that will work to improve communication between parents and school personnel, develop guidelines for servicing children with autism, and provide training for parents and school personnel. (Currently looking for a leader)

Edmond Model Transition Program - a parent, school, and community task force that will work to develop a replicable model transition program to help teens transition from high school to adult options like college, work, or other opportunities. Led by Melinda Lauffenburger.

Community Training Task Force - Participate with partners to deliver training to community organizations. Training will provide "how-to's" tools, and supports to encourage participation of families affected by autism to participate in community activities. Training will be appropriate for church staff, YMCA, gyms, boy/girl scouts and other organizations that provide services for families.

Marriage Preservation Task Force - Participate with partners to develop tools to help support married couples with the relationship challenges associated with having a special needs child.

Statewide Autism Conference - Participate with partners to develop a state-wide autism conference to provide information targeted for parents, educators, and professionals in Oklahoma.

Family Fun Night Task Force - Participants will plan family fun events that encourage family participation and having fun!
